Survé calls for a fair China-Africa order

Iqbal Survé, Chairman of Independent Media, has called for a fundamental restructuring of global governance to establish a more equitable international system. Addressing a forum on China-Africa cooperation in Johannesburg, he advocated for reforms that would amplify the influence of the Global South in world affairs.

Survé emphasized that media organizations and think tanks have a critical role in promoting these more inclusive narratives. He highlighted the partnership between African nations and China as a foundational element for building this new, balanced world order. The conference itself, co-hosted by his media group and Xinhua News Agency, gathered hundreds of delegates from across Africa and China.

He concluded by reflecting on Nelson Mandela’s historical support for Sino-African relations, framing continued collaboration as essential for a shared future.
