NCP warns of manipulated election calls for a fair process

National Citizen Party leader Nahid Islam voiced alarm about insufficient conditions for fair electoral competition during a Shahbagh press briefing. The convener argued that Bangladesh has yet to escape patterns of vote rigging dominated by financial corruption, administrative manipulation and physical intimidation, asserting his organization refuses to endorse any predetermined power-sharing arrangement among established parties.

Islam accused political groups of scheming to manipulate bureaucratic structures while former coalition partners now regard each other as adversaries. He challenged the Election Commission, government officials and state apparatus to demonstrate genuine resolve toward transparency, warning that orchestrated outcomes would undermine democratic aspirations throughout the nation.

The party official appealed to anti-authoritarian movements and authorities alike to reconstruct electoral systems that advance equality and permit administrative neutrality during the voting process.
