Tejashwi Yadav accuses Election Commission of manipulating voter verification, hints at election boycott in Bihar

Bihar Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the Election Commission of collaborating with the ruling NDA alliance during a Wednesday interview from Patna. The politician claimed authorities manipulate the ongoing Special Intensive Revision drive to remove legitimate voters from electoral rolls. Yadav stated this voter verification process undermines democratic principles across the state. Assembly proceedings descended into disorder when legislators attempted discussing the contentious voter registration issue. The opposition leader suggested his alliance might boycott upcoming elections if current practices continue.

Yadav presented evidence of fraudulent voter registrations, citing cases where 70 individuals were listed under a single BJP worker's address. He criticized the Election Commission for avoiding press conferences while the verification drive proceeds. The politician argued that rigged electoral processes eliminate the purpose of democratic participation. Alliance seat-sharing arrangements remain undecided, though Yadav indicated announcements would come through joint press conferences. He dismissed recurring allegations about past governance failures, describing them as tactics by leaders lacking developmental achievements.
