Suspected arson destroys Empumalanga home in Hwange, US$15000 lost in fire

A devastating blaze destroyed a residence in Empumalanga suburb on Sunday afternoon. The fire struck House Number 76 near Zero Complex at approximately 2PM. Emergency services received notification at 2:13PM and arrived within nine minutes. Neighbors attempted to control flames using garden hoses before professional help arrived. The Red Lion fire truck crew battled the inferno with high-pressure equipment.

Preliminary investigations suggest arson caused the destruction. Property losses total approximately US$15,000 from the complete gutting. Bedding, furniture, documents, roofing materials and electrical components were destroyed. One firefighter suffered a hand cut from broken glass during operations. The affected family escaped without serious injury.
