Tamale Docs Revolt Over Shoddy Hospital Management

A chief who helped end the doctor strike at Tamale Teaching Hospital says hospital leaders failed to provide basic supplies. Dr. Jacob Mahama from the Dagbon palace told reporters Friday that doctors need proper tools to help patients. The doctors returned to emergency care after royal representatives stepped in. He pointed out that poor management caused the work stoppage.

Dr. Mahama noted that patients often became angry with doctors when treatments failed due to missing equipment. He wondered why other teaching hospitals across Ghana operate without similar problems. The Dagbon leader serves as Zangbalun Lana and heads the team sent by Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II, who rules as Overlord of Dagbon. His comments highlight serious issues with hospital operations. Better leadership might prevent future healthcare disruptions at the medical center.
