Tano South Assembly members picked Isaac Kusi Amponsah as their new leader on Monday. During the special meeting, every member voted yes for Amponsah. Municipal Director Augustine Peprah told the group they needed to choose a leader before they could approve the President's pick for chief executive. He said this step mattered for running the area well.
Election boss Emmanuel Kyei watched as Amponsah became the only person to apply for the job. Amponsah won all 56 votes, passing the legal requirement for the position. After winning, Amponsah thanked everyone for trusting him with the job and promised to work with all members to improve discussions about local growth.
Amponsah asked fellow members to help build up their area through good discussions at meetings. The new leadership marks an important time for the local government.
