Tanzania’s lady golfers tee up for leadership showdown in January

The women's golf union wants members to run for office. The Tanzania Ladies Golf Union called on female golfers to collect nomination forms for its upcoming leadership election. TLGU President Queen Siraki encouraged interested women to participate fully in the process for the 2026-2028 terms. The National Sports Council set the election for January tenth, 2026, in Dar es Salaam. Nomination forms are available from December tenth, 2025, to January fifth, 2026, at NSC offices in Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and on its website.

Open positions include president, vice president, honorary secretary, honorary treasurer, competition secretary, and handicap secretary. Applicants must pay a non-refundable fifty thousand shilling fee. Eligibility requires Tanzanian citizenship, an age of at least twenty-five, a secondary education, and two years of golf administration experience. Candidates need knowledge of golf rules and prior involvement as players, coaches, referees, or club administrators. Supporting documents must accompany the completed forms. Siraki stated women's leadership is crucial for the sport's growth.
