Tanzania Pharmacists Association Vice Chairperson Mary Kisima announced that Dar es Salaam will welcome delegates from across the continent for discussions on antibiotic resistance patterns, research findings, and mitigation approaches. The gathering runs from the second through the sixth of next month, bringing together specialists to formulate coordinated responses to the escalating health threat.
Kisima noted that awareness activities took place from the eighteenth through the twenty-fourth of the current month, preceding the main scientific gathering. She emphasized public education regarding transmission pathways, explaining that certain resistant microorganisms can spread between individuals through environmental contact following hospital treatment and diagnostic testing, though not all resistant strains pose equal transmission risks.
