Tanzania U-17s clinch AFCON spot, Kenya left trailing

Tanzania's under-17 squad locked down their spot at the Africa Cup of Nations after wrecking Kenya 3-1 in the CECAFA semi-final at Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa. Nhingo Luzelenga got things started, and Luqman Mbalasalu made it 2-0 before Kenya's Armstrong Omondi tried to mount a comeback. Soann Shabani shut that down with a late goal to seal it.

The win puts Tanzania through to the regional final against either Ethiopia or Uganda, and they're already guaranteed one of three CECAFA spots at the continental tournament. Kenya can still qualify through the third-place playoff. Tanzania went undefeated in Group B with wins over Burundi, Uganda, Djibouti, and Sudan.
