Tata Communications has deployed digital infrastructure to enable BSNL's new eSIM services through its GSMA-certified MOVE platform. The system allows BSNL to provision eSIMs for mobile subscribers nationwide via secure QR codes that eliminate physical SIM cards. Users can remotely activate 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity while dual-SIM devices permit simultaneous use of eSIMs and traditional SIMs for international roaming.
BSNL Chairman A Robert Ravi said the nationwide eSIM launch advances telecom capabilities with enhanced flexibility and security. Tata Communications initially targets consumers, but designed the platform to expand into enterprise IoT applications. The company previously partnered with Microsoft in February to integrate carrier-grade voice calls into Teams for Indian businesses through its GlobalRapide platform.
