Mr. Thomas Tayebwa from Parliament asked local leaders to check on a program called PDM. He wants them to watch it closely, just like President Museveni does.
Mr. Tayebwa talked to people in Rubirizi District on Tuesday. He said good leaders need to be active. President Museveni shows this by visiting 12 areas to see how the program works.
"The President always tells us that leaders must set good examples to help change people's lives," Mr. Tayebwa said.
He asked leaders to care about their country and help make the program work. Their help matters a lot for small villages.
"Leaders must really want the Parish Development Model to do well. This program helps poor people in our towns have better lives," he added.
The PDM program wants to help people make money, especially families without much. President Museveni travels around to make sure it works right.
