Uganda Extends Piped Water to Angagura in Pader District

The Water Ministry plans to bring clean water to people living in Angagura, an area in the Pader district. The project will cost about 972 million shillings. All money comes from Uganda itself through the Water Supply and Sanitation Program for the North region.

Ms. Brenda Akao works as a senior talker for the Water Ministry in Northern Uganda. She told reporters that workers have started building the water system already. The building company has taken over the work site.

Builders will need one full year to finish everything. When done, homes across Angagura will connect to water pipes. Mr. Patrick Olanya helps run water projects in the Pader district. He said exactly 145 houses will receive water from these new pipes.

The local leader of Angagura, Mr. Stephen Freddie Okello, feels happy about the water project. He believes clean water helps keep everyone healthy. He promised that he and other leaders would make sure nobody stops the work before it finishes.
