Mukono police nabbed five suspects they say murdered a teacher from Seeta High School. Ivan Oloya, age 30, taught at the Mbalala campus before his death early Saturday around 1:30 AM. The killing happened in Bajjo Cell, located in Nyenje Ward of Goma Division. Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango released these details.
The five arrested people all live in Kiguunga. They include Paul Kasumba, 21; Simon Mabale, 23; Tom Kibuuka, 38, a mechanic; Simon Lukodda, 18; and teenager Charles Kandoole Dani, just 16 years old. Four of them earn money through casual labor. Oloya had left work and headed toward his Bajjo home when attackers struck near Code High School's entrance. His wife, Aber Mercy, teaches at that very school.
Dogs helped police track down the suspects. Officials transported Oloya's body to Mulago for medical experts to examine. Detectives continue looking into what happened. Someone who works at Code High School informed URN that they discovered Oloya's body lying along the street about 50 meters from the school entrance.
Resident Aisha Namita mentioned that the attackers hit Oloya in the forehead and ran off with his laptop. William Kabali, the area's elected representative, requested that security forces assign more officers to patrol the neighborhood. He specifically asked for increased foot patrols to improve safety.
