Tesla $30K EV Set to Shake Up Market

Tesla plans to sell a cheaper car next year for about $30,000 after tax breaks. Buyers might pay $37,500 if the government cancels electric vehicle credits. This price sits almost one-third below the current Model 3 cost of $44,130. The new vehicle looks similar to other Tesla cars but comes with fewer features. Car expert Andres Sheppard expects this model to arrive in early 2025.

The company faces sales challenges right after delivering just 336,681 vehicles last quarter. Market watchers predict Tesla will sell around 355,000 cars between April and June. Elon Musk blamed factory updates for slower sales earlier this year. Money manager Gary Black warns that the cheaper car might not attract new customers but could lower company profits. Tesla continues to work on several projects beyond cars.

Future plans include self-driving features worldwide, robot workers called Optimus, and electric trucks. These projects might boost Tesla's earnings despite current problems. The business must handle difficult economic conditions, trade taxes, and political issues. Analysts remain hopeful about long-term success despite short-term difficulties.
