The Division 3 is still cooking, says Massive boss

Agents finally received a pulse check on the third installment during a presentation meant for spinoffs because Julian Gerighty confirmed active production at the New Game Plus Showcase. The executive producer claims the project is shaping up to be a monster intended to match the cultural footprint of the 2016 original. This update slipped out while discussing the extraction mode, The Division 2: Survivors, and the mobile title The Division Resurgence.

Gerighty quickly shifted focus back to the immediate releases, yet the comment section ignored everything else. Players clearly crave a true sequel rather than portable MMOs or survival expansions. The team at Massive Entertainment insists they are working extremely hard within their walls to deliver something substantial.

The Division 2 approaches its seventh anniversary in March without a definitive successor in sight. While the studio kept the live service running with constant patches, the hunger for a fresh engine and setting remains palpable. Do not expect a launch this year, but at least the franchise creator confirmed the game actually exists.
