The new Google Pixel 10 is designed to overheat on purpose

Google equips its Pixel 10 Pro models with vapor chamber cooling systems while the standard version receives graphene thermal management. The company continues this differentiation strategy from the previous Pixel 9 generation. Pro variants benefit from superior heat dissipation compared to the base model's thermal solution. The new Tensor G5 processor manufactured by TSMC on a 3nm process should improve thermal performance across all devices. Enhanced hardware and software thermal controls complement these cooling upgrades.

The base Pixel 10 may struggle with heat management during intensive tasks due to its limited cooling system. Previous Pixel smartphones faced criticism for thermal throttling issues linked to Samsung's manufacturing processes and inadequate cooling solutions. The transition to TSMC fabrication addresses some thermal concerns through improved efficiency. Users in warmer climates should consider the cooling differences when selecting between models. Amazon offers the base Pixel 10 for $799 with a $100 gift card while Pro versions receive $200 gift cards.
