Google Pixel 11's Tensor G6 to Use TSMC's 2nm Chip Technology in 2026

Google plans to manufacture its Pixel 10 smartphones using a new chip supplier. The company will partner with TSMC instead of Samsung for the Tensor G5 processor. TSMC will build these chips using advanced 3nm technology called N3E. Google executives recently traveled to Taiwan to secure a five-year manufacturing agreement. The deal covers multiple future smartphone generations.

The Pixel 11 series will feature an even more advanced Tensor G6 processor made with 2nm technology. Google will skip TSMC's intermediate 3nm process and jump directly to the newest manufacturing method. China Times reports that Google joins Apple as an early customer for 2nm chip production. Apple will likely receive the first batch of 2nm wafers due to its massive order volumes.

Manufacturing costs could create challenges for Google's smartphone business. The company sells far fewer phones than Apple and Samsung, making expensive 2nm chips a risky investment. Samsung offers an alternative 2nm manufacturing process that might cost less money. The Korean company currently tests its Exynos 2600 processor with a 50 percent success rate target.

Google faces an important decision about chip manufacturing costs and technology advantages. TSMC provides reliable service but charges premium prices for cutting-edge processes. The company might choose Samsung's 2nm technology or stick with TSMC's older 3nm process to save money. Industry experts suggest Google should carefully analyze production expenses before making final commitments.
