Three schools reopen in Hsipaw for students to return

Three schools in Hsipaw, Shan State North, have resumed operations after government and military officials worked with residents to reopen educational facilities. Authorities recorded 1,230 students attending classes after 75 enrolled on Saturday, with the Education Ministry distributing textbooks and supplies at no cost. No. 1 Basic Education High School welcomed students on Tuesday, October 22, followed by two additional institutions this week.

Hsipaw People's Hospital treated 16 patients on Saturday, providing medical services to area residents. Immigration officials established a temporary office at Konetaw Buddhist Learning Centre to process household records and citizenship documents for ethnic communities. Security teams cleared explosive devices from government buildings and public spaces while maintaining order across the township to support economic activity.
