Three women were killed after a train struck them near the Arikhola station

Three women died after a train hit them in Gazipur's Kaliganj area. The accident happened near Arikhola Railway Station in the Tekpara locality. The Noakhali-bound Upakul Express struck them as they walked along the tracks.

The victims were Kamala Begum, age fifty-five, from Narsingdi's Shibpur upazila, her thirteen-year-old granddaughter Anadi Akter, and a twenty-four-year-old neighbor named Sadia Begum. Kamala Begum and Sadia Begum died immediately at the scene. Locals pulled the critically injured Anadi Akter from the tracks and took her to a nearby health complex, where doctors pronounced her dead.

A railway police officer confirmed that authorities visited the location and carried out the required legal procedures.
