Tinubu orders nonstop forest sweeps over Kwara and Kebbi

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has authorized continuous aerial surveillance across forest regions in Kwara, Kebbi, and portions of Niger State to combat escalating abductions and militant violence. Presidential spokesperson Sunday Dare confirmed that air force units received instructions to penetrate dense woodland areas where criminal gangs reportedly operate, coordinating their efforts with soldiers conducting ground rescues.

The directive responds to multiple recent assaults, particularly the kidnapping of worshippers in Eruku and synchronized raids across neighboring territories. While authorities have liberated some captives, intelligence suggests additional victims remain trapped in isolated camps. Tinubu demanded an unrelenting campaign until criminal networks collapse and every hostage returns home.

Local populations received appeals to supply information supporting the expanded military push against the abduction rings terrorizing communities.
