The Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, visited the Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, telling crowds that President Bola Tinubu holds a special fondness for the Ogoni people. Wike claimed this affection is now visible through several development projects and political gestures. He pointed to the new Federal University of Environment and Technology located in Koroma, Tai LGA, as a direct response to long-standing Ogoni requests for a university. Wike also mentioned a road project connecting the region to Bonny Island, and cited Tinubu's pardon of four Ogoni individuals known as martyrs as a key act of reconciliation.
