Trump aid freeze throws Gambia justice plans into turmoil

The Gambia wants to know what will happen after America's leader makes a big change. President Trump told his country to stop giving money to help other countries for three months. He wants to see if this money helps America first.

America gives money to many places around the world. This money helps children stay healthy and makes sure people have clean water. The Gambia uses some of this money. Many people worry about what will happen when the money stops coming.

Some people feel extra worried because The Gambia needs money to set up a special court. This court would look at bad things that happened when Yahya Jammeh was president. A lawyer named Reed Brody said this court might have problems without America's help.

Dr Ismaila Ceesay, who informs people about government activities, discussed these worries. He said many countries are watching what America will do next. America helps The Gambia make things fair for people who were hurt in the past. If America stops giving money forever, The Gambia will need to think of new ways to help these people.
