Trump says no to West Bank grab as Bibi flies in for UN showdown

President Trump declared his opposition to Israeli West Bank annexation during Thursday remarks at the White House. The announcement preceded Prime Minister Netanyahu's scheduled United Nations address and Washington meeting amid growing international pressure on Israel. Trump expressed confidence about reaching a Gaza peace agreement while rejecting far-right Israeli proposals for territorial expansion. Arab leaders had previously warned the American president about potential consequences of such actions.

Palestinian Authority President Abbas delivered a video address to the General Assembly after America denied his visa application. Abbas rejected Hamas governance and distanced himself from the October 7 attacks while calling for international recognition of Palestinian statehood. The Palestinian leader described Gaza's humanitarian crisis as among history's worst tragedies. Israeli military operations have resulted in over 65,500 Palestinian deaths according to United Nations data.
