Trump Tariff Chaos Ignites Global Meltdown

The US trade war brings more trouble as recession fears grow. President Donald Trump faces problems after China rejected his claims about ongoing trade talks. Chinese commerce official He Yadong told reporters that Trump made up stories about negotiation progress. Trump admitted his recent 125 percent tariffs went overboard after China matched them exactly. Beijing also stopped sending critical materials like magnets to America.

Trump tried calling Chinese leader Xi Jinping several times, but Xi refused to answer. Chinese officials want more respect from Washington before talking. The Foreign Ministry stated clearly that America must stop threats if it wants real dialogue. Chinese media outlet Global Times said other countries prefer cooperation between these powers. They emphasized that trade should follow fair international rules.

Similar drama unfolds about Russia's relations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio angrily denied a Politico report claiming the White House might lift sanctions on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. He called it fake news, though many think his reaction proves the story true. Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov mentioned pipeline discussions with Washington earlier this year. Western media reported potential energy partnerships between the countries.

The controversy started when Politico revealed the White House had about removing sanctions on Russian gas projects. Presidential envoy Steve Witkoff supports lifting these restrictions despite opposition from Rubio. Such a decision would mark a major policy shift since Trump himself approved these sanctions during his first term. The tensions show how difficult both Russian and Chinese relationships have become for the current administration.
