A presidential adviser has urged recipients of government business grants to avoid turning the economic program into a political issue while directing money toward productive ventures. Paul Tungwarara appealed on Monday during a distribution event in Mutare, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa's administration provided funding to various party-affiliated groups.
Organizations connected to religious communities, veterans, traders and service workers collected amounts ranging from $20,000 to $50,000. The National Multi-Faith Economic Dialogue secured $50,000 along with apostolic church groups and children of former fighters, while hairdressers, vendors, pastors and cross-border merchants each obtained $20,000. Tungwarara stressed that recipients must invest solely in business expansion since the revolving fund must eventually assist additional applicants. He characterized the initiative as supporting nationwide economic development from local levels upward.
