TV stars Naman Shawarma, Indira Krishnan celebrate Diwali apart from families

Television actors celebrated Diwali, sharing both their festival traditions and environmental concerns. Naman Shawarma told a news agency he celebrates with his wife, son, and niece despite living away from his Kolkata family. The actor prepares for the festival by cleaning the house, decorating with lights, and purchasing traditional clothing, all in anticipation of introducing his four-year-old son to the customs.

Shawarma advocates for a Green Diwali by limiting firecrackers to sparklers, thereby reducing noise and pollution that distresses elderly people and animals. His celebration involves lighting diyas, decorating his home, and sharing sweets before visiting friends for card games. Actress Indira Krishnan views Diwali as representing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Krishnan will celebrate in Chandigarh while filming away from her family, who will complete rituals at home. The actress emphasized that the festival strengthens community bonds and promotes generosity toward less fortunate people. Krishnan encouraged safe and environmentally responsible celebrations while anticipating her roles in the films Ramayana and Jatadhara.
