Two Brainscope Investments employees were robbed of a substantial amount of company money while traveling in Harare. Yvonne Zulu and the driver, Simbarashe Chiinze, were intercepted by armed men in a silver Toyota Fortuner along Plymouth Road in Southerton. The assailants smashed their vehicle's window and seized a bag containing US$56,500.
The robbers also took Chiinze's wallet, which held his identification and an additional US$1,500, bringing the total stolen to US$58,000. They subsequently fled the scene. According to Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, no property has been recovered.
Police authorities confirmed they are investigating the armed robbery and have appealed to the public for any information related to the crime.
