Two politicians who previously served as Sabah chief ministers are seeking reelection among 596 candidates competing for 73 seats in the state assembly. The seat holder previously won with a margin approaching 4,300 votes and has represented the constituency across four terms. His challengers include former three-term assemblyman Japlin Akim and Kota Belud parliamentary representative Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis, who chairs Warisan's women division.
