Two KNA Members, Including Commander, Killed in Army Operation in Bandarban

Army forces gunned down two fighters from the Kuki Chin National Army during combat operations. One of the dead men held a commander position within the rebel group. The deadly clash happened in the mountainous terrain of Ruma Upazila located in Bandarban district. Military officials confirmed the deaths through an official statement released Thursday morning. The remote hill country became a battleground as government troops moved against the armed organization.

Soldiers seized a large cache of weapons after the firefight ended. The military haul contained three submachine guns and one rifle. Troops also grabbed additional firearms and bullets from the scene. The Inter-Services Public Relations office made the weapons recovery public. Military sources said the captured arsenal would prevent future attacks against security forces.

The army operation continued past the time officials released their statement. Government forces remained active in the area hunting for more rebel fighters. The mountainous region makes it difficult for troops to track down fleeing militants. Military commanders have not announced when the operation will conclude. Local residents have been warned to stay indoors until the security situation improves.
