Two Top Iranian Judges Killed in Court Shooting

Two top judges in Iran were shot and killed at the country's highest court in Tehran on Saturday morning. The attacker also died while trying to escape.

The judges were Ali Razini and Mohammad Moghiseh. They had a history of going after people who opposed Iran's Islamic government in the 1980s and 1990s.

Someone with a gun went into the court and started shooting. A guard was hurt, too. After the attack, the gunman killed himself.

No one knows yet why the attack happened. The court said it was planned ahead of time to kill the judges on purpose.

The judges had faced trouble before. In 1998, someone tried to kill Razini but failed. Moghiseh was known for leading unfair trials. The US and Canada had punished him for this.

Iran is looking into the attack. They want to find out if anyone else helped plan it. The country will likely take this very seriously since it involves such powerful judges.
