UAE ambassador Qasimi dumps 74 ICU ventilators in Harare

The United Arab Emirates handed over medical supplies worth more than $620,000 to Zimbabwe as the two nations strengthen their friendship. The massive donation included 34 tonnes of essential medical equipment with 74 life-saving ICU ventilators for patients with serious breathing problems. Deputy Health Minister Sleiman Kwidini accepted the generous gift on behalf of Zimbabwe while UAE Ambassador Jassim Mohammed Al Qasimi represented his country. The official handover ceremony took place at the NatPharm Warehouse in Harare yesterday. Officials described the donation as perfect timing to help Zimbabwe's healthcare system.

The valuable package contained hypodermic needles worth $49,387 and different types of syringes valued at over $450,000 combined. The ICU ventilators alone cost $122,515 and will help save lives across the country. Kwidini praised the UAE leadership under Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their global humanitarian efforts. The minister explained these supplies will help Zimbabwe provide better medical care to people in remote areas. The donation supports Zimbabwe's goal of universal healthcare access for all citizens.

The UAE has become Zimbabwe's second biggest trading partner and accounts for nearly half of the country's export money. Ambassador Qasimi said the medical aid shows the strong brotherhood between the two nations. The UAE believes countries working together can solve health problems around the world. Zimbabwe's government received praise for welcoming international partnerships. The donation represents the growing business and diplomatic ties between Zimbabwe and the UAE.
