UCC Hosts Breakfast Meeting Celebrating the Success of the 2025 Uganda Film Festival

Uganda Communications Commission held a breakfast meeting Friday to celebrate the successful Uganda Film Festival 2025. Officials from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance joined festival sponsors and winners at the event. Film school representatives and other industry members also attended the gathering. The meeting recognized everyone who helped make the 12th festival edition successful. UCC wanted to thank all partners for their contributions to Ugandan cinema.

Ms. Julianne Mweheire leads content development at UCC and spoke at the meeting. She thanked sponsors like MultiChoice Uganda and MTN Uganda for their support. The festival recognized films across many categories such as best feature film and short film. Animation, TV series, documentary and indigenous language films also received awards. Technical achievement awards honored behind-the-scenes work.

Mr. Nyombi Thembo serves as UCC executive director and congratulated all winners. He praised their creativity and dedication to showcasing Uganda culture. Mr. Hassan Saleh manages MultiChoice Uganda and noted the festival growth. The event started as a national competition but became regional. He promised long-term support for the film industry.

Ms. Mariam Ndagire runs a film and performing arts center. She highlighted how the festival helps young filmmakers develop skills. Her school partners with the festival to train new talent. The event creates opportunities for emerging artists to show their work. Increased viewership helps nominated films reach more audiences.

UCC and its partners plan to continue supporting filmmakers. The festival provides a platform for local stories and talent. Organizers want to keep investing in Uganda creative industry growth.
