The Uganda Advertising Association has partnered with The Loeries to launch Silverback Creative Week, a series of professional development events taking place from Monday, November 10, to Saturday, November 15, 2025. The six-day program targets marketing, advertising, media and public relations professionals across Uganda and East Africa, with sessions scheduled at Next Media Park and culminating at Golf Course Hotel.
The Young Silverback Competition opens the week from Monday, November 10 to Wednesday, November 12, challenging professionals under 30 to complete creative briefs within 24 to 48 hours. Winners receive medals, certificates and internships with member agencies. A Communications Industry Symposium follows on Friday, November 14, at Next Conference Center, featuring masterclasses from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with industry leaders from Next Media, Blue Edge Marketing, and Uganda Breweries Limited.
The Silverback Awards Gala closes the week on Saturday, November 15, recognizing campaigns across Film, Print, Digital, Public Relations and Social Good categories. Symposium tickets cost 250,000 Ugandan shillings for association members, 300,000 for non-members and 100,000 for students. Association Chairman Rommel Jasi said the initiative aims to position East African brands for global impact while raising industry standards.
