Uganda’s national football team will face Morocco in an international friendly on Nov. 18 in Tangier, according to the Moroccan Football Federation. Uganda’s football body has not yet released an official statement. Morocco will also play Mozambique as part of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which it will host.
The match gives Uganda a key test against one of Africa’s top teams ahead of the tournament, where the Cranes are grouped with Nigeria, Tunisia, and Tanzania. It will also allow players to adjust to Moroccan conditions before the competition begins on Dec. 21. The fixture revives memories of Uganda’s 5–2 loss to Morocco at the 2021 African Nations Championship in Douala. Sources said the team may add another friendly, possibly against Chad, as part of its pre-AFCON buildup.
