Last Day to Check Your Name for Voting.
People need to check if their names are on the list of voters today before six in the evening. The special places where people check their names started working on January 20. Many people had problems because some machines did not work well.
Some voters asked for more time after seeing these problems. But the person in charge of elections, Justice Simon Byabakama, said they could not give extra time. He explained that they must start preparing for the big election next year, 2026.
Mr. Byabakama thinks they do not need more time because only a few new people want to add their names to the list. Anyone who wants to vote next year should hurry to the nearest checking place. People who miss this chance might not be able to vote when Uganda picks new leaders in 2026.
