UK Power Couple and Son in Terrifying Crash

A famous UK legal family landed in the hospital after their car crashed head-on near Mariental on Monday. Chris Low, Emily Formby, their son Arbyl, and friend Jack Gordon all suffered serious injuries in the accident. The family traveled from South Africa when disaster struck. Three family members remain in critical condition at different Windhoek hospitals. Gordon reached stable condition after being airlifted to Lady Pohamba Private Hospital.

Hardap police deputy commissioner John Mwatongwe said the parents stay at the Roman Catholic Hospital ICU, and their teenage son receives care at Mediclinic ICU. The MVA Fund helped transport Gordon from Mariental State Hospital. BBC reporter John Simpson told The Namibian about Low and Formby's prominence back home. The couple works in impressive professional fields.

Formby practices personal injury and clinical negligence law as a King's Counsel. Low directs them! Khwa ttu San Heritage Centre is located north of Cape Town. He helped create San heritage exhibits at the centre. Essex Chambers notes that Formby served as the first chairperson of the Personal Injury Bar Association. She fought for diversity among legal practitioners and against gender pay gaps.

Police report the crash happened between Gibeon and Mariental. Formby tried passing a truck but hit an oncoming car. Both vehicles suffered major damage, with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Seven Namibians in the other car went to Mariental State Hospital with various injuries. The truck driver kept going without stopping after the accident. Police continue their investigation into what happened.
