Works Minister David Umahi made a surprise trip to Abia State on Thursday. He wanted to check federal road projects and see what Governor Alex Otti has been building. The minister did not tell the governor he was coming ahead of time.
Umahi looked at several construction sites around the state. He said President Bola Tinubu would visit later to open these new roads. The minister liked what he saw and praised the governor for fixing federal roads using state money.
The minister asked all governors across Nigeria to work together with federal leaders. He said political party differences should not stop important building projects. Umahi especially loved the Port Harcourt road work happening in Aba city.
Governor Otti promised his state would keep working with federal officials. He thanked the national government for supporting Abia projects. The governor said both governments should act like one team to help local people.
