UN snaps Iran back to sanctions hell

The United Nations reinstated comprehensive sanctions against Iran after European nations triggered the process over nuclear program violations. Britain, France and Germany accused Tehran of breaking the 2015 nuclear agreement designed to prevent weapons development.

Arms embargoes and uranium enrichment restrictions returned to effect Saturday evening. The European Union confirmed immediate implementation of all previously suspended measures against the Islamic Republic.

Israel praised the decision while Iran recalled its ambassadors from the three European capitals. Russian officials challenged the legality of restored penalties and disputed their validity.

European ministers offered potential delays if Iran restored inspector access and addressed uranium stockpile concerns. American officials maintained diplomatic channels remain open despite the renewed pressure campaign targeting Tehran's nuclear activities.
