UNDP and Ghana to implement digital gateways for MSME registration and finance

The United Nations Development Programme will work with Ghana to create new digital systems for small businesses. Shaima Hussein from UNDP made this announcement during a special event for small companies on Friday. The program aims to help business owners register their companies and find money more easily. Small enterprises face many problems when trying to start and grow their operations. The digital systems should solve these issues for thousands of entrepreneurs.

Hussein explained that business owners struggle with complicated paperwork and government processes. Many cannot access loans or learn about new technology that could help them succeed. The registration process takes too much time and creates barriers for people wanting to start companies. Tax procedures also confuse many small business owners who need simple guidance. These problems prevent economic growth across the country.

The new digital gateways will combine many services into one easy system. Business owners can register their companies and share information through a single website. The system will connect entrepreneurs with banks and other financial services. Government agencies will also use the platform to provide better support for small businesses. This approach should save time and reduce costs for everyone involved.

The celebration happened at a major conference about helping small businesses use technology. Ghana's Trade Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare spoke about government plans to make registration simpler. The event focused on connecting business owners with digital tools that can improve their success. International organizations provided funding and technical support for these new programs. The partnership represents a major step forward for Ghana's business community.
