US lawmakers meet NSA Ribadu, security ties get a boost

Nigeria's security chief, Nuhu Ribadu, met with a US congressional crew that flew in for some fact-finding work. The delegation had Mario Díaz-Balart running point alongside Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley Moore, with Ambassador Richard Mills sitting in on the whole thing.

They spent the session talking about counterterrorism moves and how to keep the region stable while building up security ties between both countries. Ribadu seemed pretty optimistic about the whole exchange, saying it should help build more trust and get everyone working better on peace and security stuff going forward.
