Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, smashes Youth ODI sixes record in style

Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi established a new Youth ODI record during India Under-19's match against Australia Under-19 at Ian Healy Oval on Wednesday. The left-handed batsman struck his fourth six to surpass former captain Unmukt Chand's mark of 38 maximums across 21 matches. Suryavanshi accomplished this feat in merely 10 innings, extending his total to 41 sixes while contributing 70 runs from 68 deliveries. His aggressive knock featured five boundaries and six maximums before Australian skipper Yash Deshmukh dismissed him after he reached fifty off 54 balls.

The teenager previously dominated the five-match series against England Under-19, accumulating 355 runs at a 71.00 average. His remarkable year continued when he became the youngest IPL auction acquisition and later the youngest centurion in tournament history. Suryavanshi finished the IPL season with 252 runs across seven matches, earning the Super Striker award with his exceptional 206.56 strike rate.
