Valve set to announce Steam Frame, new controller this week

Valve appears poised to announce multiple hardware products, including a virtual reality headset codenamed Deckard and potentially branded as Steam Frame, according to leaker Bradley Lynch. The VR device would incorporate a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor alongside dual 2160 by 2160 displays operating at 120 hertz refresh rates with SLAM and eye tracking capabilities. The company may simultaneously reveal an updated controller featuring capacitive technology that detects finger proximity to gamepad surfaces.

Speculation has intensified regarding potential software announcements accompanying the hardware reveals, with some sources suggesting Valve could disclose information about a Half-Life project. YouTuber Moore's Law Is Dead indicated the announcements might arrive around 19 UTC, while leaker Shpeshal Nick hinted at revelations significant enough to challenge Grand Theft Auto VI hype levels. Valve released Half-Life Alyx for its Index headset but has not produced a traditional sequel to Half-Life 2 in over two decades.
