Van Vicker Blasts Ghanaians Abroad Whining Cedi

Actor Van Vicker criticized Ghanaians living overseas who complain about Ghana's stronger currency against the American dollar. These citizens feel upset because they must send more money home when the cedi's value increases. Van Vicker posted on Wednesday on social media, calling their complaints selfish and self-centered behavior. The movie star believes people should celebrate when their home country's currency becomes stronger, rather than worrying about personal costs. He described overseas Ghanaians as narcissistic for focusing on individual problems rather than national success.

Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama reports the cedi has gained 24 percent in strength since January 2025 began. Van Vicker described this currency improvement as remarkable and believes the gains will continue, ultimately helping Ghana's economy grow. The entertainment personality praised President John Dramani Mahama for leading the economic recovery that strengthened local money. Van Vicker congratulated the president directly and asked him to continue the policies that had created these positive results. The actor expressed satisfaction with seeing Ghana's currency perform better against foreign currencies on world markets.
