VeryDarkMan backs Tell Your Papa video redo

Activist VeryDarkMan promised to pay for a new video of the protest song "Tell Your Papa" after the Nigerian government banned it. The National Broadcasting Commission stopped the song from playing on Thursday because it was deemed inappropriate. The ban actually made people notice the song when almost nobody knew about it before. VeryDarkMan criticized the government decision, saying the singer Eedris Abdulkareem spoke the truth in his lyrics.

He shared a video message online explaining that NBC sent Abdulkareem a notice that they banned his song where he asks President Tinubu's son to tell his father about the hardship in the country. VeryDarkMan pointed out that people really are suffering from economic problems and security issues across Nigeria. He mentioned that most people use social media instead of radio or TV anyway, making the ban less effective.

The activist announced plans to remake the video with himself appearing in it. He wants to find someone who looks like President Tinubu for the new version. VeryDarkMan said they will create "Tell Your Papa 2," highlighting additional problems facing Nigerians. He accused the government of monitoring public opinion but refusing to take action, trying to control voices through media restrictions.
