Vice president demands officials admit their gaps

Vice President Mohammed B.S. Jallow spoke to government bosses at a big meeting on Monday. The three-day event happened at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center. Top civil servants gathered to talk about their work and plans. The VP called the meeting a smart way to connect leaders with real results for Gambians. He said the retreat had one main goal.

The meeting focused on checking how well ministers delivered on five major promises. These promises came from an earlier Cabinet meeting and weren't just dreams. Each target could be measured and matched the National Development Plan. Government leaders had already approved these goals at the highest level. The five areas covered roads, farming, schools, hospitals, power, and government changes.

Jallow reminded the civil servants that they control the money and must turn ideas into action. The retreat works as a way to keep track of what government departments actually do. Cabinet members use this information to watch how well different parts of government perform. The VP stressed that good policies and smart leaders mean nothing without professional workers. Government keeps working to make the civil service better through computers, checking performance, and making people more responsible.

The VP told the civil servants to speak honestly about what works and what doesn't. He said being open helps everyone find answers and fix problems when needed. These top workers should lead changes from inside their departments. The retreat helps everyone promise to do better work and follow what Cabinet wants. Jallow asked them to report carefully and stay committed to delivering results.
