Village head Hudu Barau found dead after abduction in Kanam Plateau

Armed criminals murdered Mallam Hudu Barau after holding him captive for six days. Barau served as the village head of Shuwaka in Garga within the Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State. Security forces discovered his body in Wanka Forest following his abduction. The Kanam Development Association announced his death through chairman Shehu Kanam and secretary Barr. Garba Aliyu. Criminal groups continue to terrorize residents across multiple communities throughout the region.

Local leaders demand immediate government intervention to address escalating violence. The association requests that Governor Caleb Mutfwang declare emergency status for affected areas. Citizens express anger over inadequate responses from state and federal authorities. Community representatives face criticism for failing to protect constituents from criminal attacks. Residents endure constant fear while waiting for effective security measures from political leadership.
