Voting in Kamanjab and Sesfontein Goes Smooth Today

Voters started choosing new leaders at 44 polling stations across Kamanjab and Sesfontein areas on Tuesday morning. Election workers opened voting locations at 7 AM and planned to close them at 9 PM before counting ballots. All stations opened on schedule and more people arrived throughout the day. Officials faced no problems during the first half of voting day. Lines grew longer as residents came to cast their votes.

Electoral Commission officer Mike Nganjone said everything ran smoothly across both areas during morning hours. Commissioner Pius Iikwambi visited Elias Amxab Secondary School and asked more community members to participate. The commission worked with property owners to set up voting locations on private land. Officials completed voter education programs during registration and voting periods. Rinondjamo Tjomazeva managed the Omarumba station and expected more people to show up later.

Two former council members left their positions after moving to National Assembly jobs earlier this year. Nico and Hendrick Somaeb represented Kamanjab and Sesfontein before taking new roles at the national level. Their departure created empty seats that needed filling through special elections. Community members must select replacements to represent their areas going forward. The voting process gives residents direct control over choosing their local government representatives.
