Wainaina's alibi for the Mbobu murder is a brief, friendly hi

KANU Secretary General George Wainaina denied any connection to the murder of lawyer Kyallo Mbobu after authorities released him Saturday evening. Police had detained Wainaina and two other individuals for questioning regarding the fatal incident. Investigators found no evidence linking the three suspects to the crime and subsequently freed them. Security cameras captured Wainaina greeting the deceased attorney at Sagret Hotel's parking area shortly before the killing occurred. The KANU official explained that he had visited the location to meet with a neighbor and merely exchanged pleasantries with Mbobu.

Wainaina cooperated fully with law enforcement by submitting his licensed firearm for ballistic examination and answering all questions during interrogation. Authorities discovered no proof of his involvement after completing their investigation and released him without charges. The political leader acknowledged the distress caused by his arrest but expressed greater sympathy for the victim's family and colleagues. He thanked party leadership and supporters who stood by him during the ordeal. Wainaina pledged continued cooperation with future investigations and reaffirmed his commitment to justice for the deceased lawyer's family.
