White Afrikaners Pour into US Under Trump Refugee Plan

White South Africans touched down on American soil Friday under Trump's refugee plan. The Afrikaner families fled their home country after claiming unfair treatment from their government. President Trump promised to relocate 8,000 people over several months ahead. Jaco Kleynhans works for Solidarity union and confirmed the second group arrived safely. Last month 49 people made the same trip using a chartered aircraft.

Trump created new rules during February to welcome these South African refugees. He pointed to fresh laws that target white farming communities back home. This latest bunch traveled on commercial flights from their homeland to Atlanta airport. Texas and Carolina states will welcome most of the new families. Embassy workers continue reviewing thousands of escape requests from people wanting to start over.
