White South Africans Flee SA on Trumps Refugee Flight

The first group of white South Africans with refugee status from President Trump left Johannesburg airport on Sunday. People lined up with wrapped luggage as officials checked their passports before departure. Officials cleared 49 travelers after making sure none had criminal cases. They flew to Washington, DC before continuing to Texas. No reporters talked with these passengers.

Trump offered shelter to white South Africans, mainly Afrikaners with Dutch roots. He called them victims of racial discrimination despite blocking refugees from other countries. South African leaders criticized this decision as meddling in local politics. This happened during rising tensions about land distribution after thirty years of democracy. The Trump plan targets only white citizens.

White South Africans continue living better than other groups since apartheid ended. They control three-quarters of private land across the country. Their wealth measures about twenty times more than black South Africans. Job loss affects white residents less than any other race. Trump supporter Elon Musk, born in South Africa, repeats claims about white discrimination that spread through internet groups.
